Samsung offers free ‘Battery-Pack’ with Galaxy S7-Edge


Samsung Pakistan has launched a special offer to give a free ‘Battery-Pack’ to every buyer of its premium smartphone device – the Galaxy S7 Edge. The Samsung battery pack, with a 5200mAh capacity allows you to charge your Fast Charge-compatible Samsung device from 0 to 50% in only 30 minutes. So now the customers can enjoy this Fast-Charge technology on-the-go, as the Battery-Pack can be recharged over and over.

With a universal USB port output, the Samsung Battery-Pack can also charge other smartphones, tablets or electronics capable of charging via USB. ETIHAD AIRWAYS WINS BEST ORIGINAL VIDEO FOR VR FILM STARRING NICOLE KIDMAN

Etihad Airways’ virtual reality film, starring Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman, has won Best Original Video at the 2016 APEX Awards which were presented in Singapore this week.

The five-minute feature, titled ‘Reimagine’, takes viewers on a multi-sensory journey following Miss Kidman through an Etihad Airways’ Airbus A380 on a virtual flight between Abu Dhabi and New York.

On board, the viewer encounters a number of characters including the actor, a film director and an opera singer. They also interact with a Savoy-trained Butler in The Residence, the airline’s exclusive private three-room cabin, an Onboard Chef in First Class, a Food and Beverage Manager in Business Class, and a Flying Nanny.

Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Peter Baumgartner, expressed his delight at the win.

“Our aim with Reimagine was to tell the Etihad Airways story in a new and innovative way, using cutting-edge technology to immerse viewers in the guest experience in first-person.

“Its virtual reality format delivers an experience that’s as near as possible to flying in our A380 – an outcome that traditional formats such as video simply could not achieve.

“We are immensely proud of the 2016 APEX Award for Best Original Video. It proves yet again that we’re leading the way in innovation, best practice and intelligent communication.”

The film can be viewed by downloading the Reimagine VR app on iOS and Android at vr.etihad.com and using a virtual reality headset, such as Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard. It can also be viewed as a 360 degree video on Facebook and YouTube.

PepsiCo Food Safety Internship Program 2016 concludes


PepsiCo Pakistan concluded its Food Safety Internship Program 2016 targeting the brightest students from Pakistan’s key business and agriculture universities. The programe has been launched in collaboration with the US Pakistan Women Council.

The intensive six-month program featured 50 promising interns with 60% of female participants who were provided hands-on experience and a host of enabling opportunities through a robust range of tailor made learning activities. Apart from comprehensive orientation sessions, food safety workshops , case studies  and trainings on PepsiCo values, Hilal Risk Management & Integrated pest management, the program also featured various challenging team projects.

On the occasion of closing ceremony, Jahanzeb Khan, Vice President & General Manager, PepsiCo Pakistan remarked, "we truly believe that with the right education, trainings and exposure for food technology and food safety students the development of a robust food safety culture across the industry is inevitable. The latter will for sure benefit both the industry and the aspiring food experts. This Internship Program has contributed towards the growth and development of these talented students and PepsiCo is proud to play its role in providing this healthy platform to the bright and talented young professionals in Pakistan” added Jahanzeb Khan.

While addressing the event, Khurram Shah, Head of Corporate affairs, PepsiCo Pakistan and the project lead further elaborated: "PepsiCo is striving to provide new learning opportunities and capacity building for the talented youth of the country through various initiatives. The impact of the aforementioned internship program is not confined to the participating students only. It will further lead to the development of the food safety systems across supply chains. He further said that this initiative, supported by the U.S. Pakistan Women’s Council is expected to enhance the skills of aspiring food safety managers & suppliers for food/packaging industry. Additionally, it will certainly improve their employment opportunities for a brighter prospect as some of the qualifying students from this year’s programme have always been offered jobs.


The event was attended by members of the academia, students, experts and trainers from the food industry along with top suppliers of the PepsiCo family. Participants especially the students of this internship program expressed their pleasure at the event saying that the internships at the suppliers and PepsiCo plants really helped them cover the gap between theory and practical implementation.
