Microsoft Pakistan briefs media on its broad-based social initiatives


Microsoft Pakistan conducted a press conference on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was held at Microsoft’s Karachi Office on 3rd February 2016. The General Manager of Microsoft NEPA region – Ms Leila Surhan personally graced the occasion and was also accompanied by the Country Manager of Microsoft Pakistan - Mr. Nadeem Malik. The two senior executives of Microsoft briefed the media about the scope and impact of the generous social development ventures launched by Microsoft Pakistan, with particular emphasis on the upcoming employability portal being created by Microsoft.

 The Microsoft Pakistan Employability Portal (Rozgar) is designed to deliver comprehensive online facilities for; youth which include Teachers, Students and Entrepreneurs. The idea behind this initiative is to help the human resources learn soft skills, while bridging the gap between Job-seekers and employment opportunities available in market. Microsoft Pakistan has collaborated with credible international and local NGOs for operating this broad-based initiative.

Another vital initiative orchestrated by Microsoft Pakistan is the “Internet safety & security campaign”. Under this campaign, teachers, students, entrepreneurs and users can learn how to use the internet safely. Microsoft Pakistan is supporting NGOs in terms of ‘Software Donation programme’ and capacity building trainings, to improve their performance by promoting automated functionality. Moin Khan & his Mate Explorers the “City of Saints”; Multan


Moin Khan, on his way to Karachi under the banner of “My Huawei My Pakistan” explored the city of Saints; Multan. Global technology giant, Huawei, has sponsored Moin Khan’s travel campaign and provided him with a Mate to accompany this long distance. Huawei Soon Will Be The Market Leader


Huawei has proven to be the real time technology champion in the last year with record shipment of smart phones across the borders. According to the reports of Digital Times Industry, 2015 was a spectacular year for Huawei that can be better described as a year of breakthrough. In the last year Huawei was the only technology giant in the smart phones market to witness a gigantic growth of 44% in the smart phones shipment. It is further expected to increase business by 20% in this year as well. Interestingly other competitors in the smart phone technology world are facing difficult times, and even one of these has been downsizing its devices units for over the past 12-18 months.

Huawei Technologies is tremendously capturing the market and poses a threat to the other technology manufacturers. In 2016, the anticipated smart phone shipment is 120 million units as compared to more or less 108 million units last year. Samsung Electronics Unveils Concept of TV’s Future at CES 2016
